Last night was a doozy!

Last night Dan had a few friends over to watch the Ultimate Fighting Championship fight on pay per view. I think enough beer was drank in this house for a college fraternity house party. It was ridiculous! But somehow we survived and are left today to clean up the fun. Actually, the only clean up involved was taking the bottles into the garage, I love living with a clean boy. It's great.

Today I am working on a present for S-dog who is moving back to central Oregon in a few days. I can't believe he won't be here in the same town as me, its a very wierd thought. But I think the move will be good for him. So I have to work on his present today while I watch the first day of the French Open. (We bought tennis rackets last weekend, and it has rained every day since. But one day we will get to use them!)

The cat really pees in the toilet!

That's right, I have now witnessed this amazing feat with my own two eyes! Our cat, Em, pees in the toilet!!! This has been known to happen with Em, I had heard it before, but never, before this morning, had I ever actually witnessed it! I am in awe of the world and it's magic!

Today is Saturday, and despite waking up groggy I am determined to have a very fulfilling day of internet indulgence and craftastic hobby time. I would like to get some moderate cleaning done, as the house guests are coming on Tuesday or Wednesday, but for the most part it should be a pretty mellow day.

ah root beer and chips

Now there's a good homecoming after a hard day of work: Thomas Kemper Root Beer and Barbara's Yogurt and Green Onion potato chips... Perfection!

It is only Thursday of what feels like a long week. A productive, but long week. I spoke with the work people about taking a class this summer, and unfortunately that isn't going to happen right now, but I have been assured that we can discuss it again in the fall, and there's no reason why it can't work! Yippee! I knew it would be a little early to ask, but I had to do it anyway. On the up side this gives me some time to actually financially prepare for being in school again. Ugh.

I have been finding myself crafting on the bus too and from work. That seems to be the only time I can really work on stuff. I wish the inventors of the world had invented the silent sewing machine by my lifetime so I could have it in the very center of my house and not disrupt anything. Oh well, maybe in another 20 years.

Wow! Spam comments suck!!

Well if any of you have noticed, I got spammed hard on my comments, so now you have to do that annoying verification before you are allowed to comment on my site. Gross. I am sorry, but that was super annoying so I thought I'd do away with it happening again in the future. Dan and I both had quite the week this week. We were tired and ready for rest this weekend. I fell asleep on the couch at about 7 on Friday night, and slept through most of my Saturday due to an allergy attack that made me feel like maybe I was better off dead. Needless to say this morning when I woke up feeling good enough to go on my morning jog I was happy as pie. Now all the normal pay-day things that didn't get done on Friday (like, shopping for food, buying something cosmetic, and indulging in groceries for cooking something extravagant) are going to be done today in a whirlwind shopping experience. It is a little grey and sprinkly here, and I didn't get any work done on my closet curtains like I wanted to, but it will happen, no rush I guess. A little afternoon reandeveux with dad and debra should prove interesting. I will be eating Thai and meeting their new dog, Foxy. Life in a nutshell. Check out my Nara towels that are almost finished at flickr....

self portrait tuesday

Well, timing couldn't be more perfect for this week's self portrait tuesday photo. I just spent an hour and a half at the eye doctor getting "fitted" for contacts. Its been nearly ten years since I last had them, I think (?!). So immediately after I left I went on a sunglasses hunt. I found these at the mall, they cost a small fortune (too me) and I love them. They cover my entire sight line so they are essentially geriatric sunglasses. How wonderful is that? Anne Klein, but I won't hold it against them. Atleast I didn't buy the Prada ones. (but they were eerily perfect, dammit). So despite dropping a wad of cash, I actually did practice restraint! Ah, glorious penny-pinching adulthood.

Record Highs

Today we are experiencing record highs here in the willamette valley, not that I would know because I haven't set foot out of this office since I got here this morning at 8:15. I did go running this morning, and I do intend to go tomorrow morning because I feel great, sure a little tired, and definately a little pudgy around the middle, but I feel stronger than I did yesterday!

Hope everyone had a decent monday, glad mine is over! Now for the rest and relaxation!

well, sorry for the hiatus

I have been spending all day everyday on the computer and have not wanted to log on again once I get home from work. Sorry to be a neglectful writer. I will try hard from here on out to dedicate 5 mins of my work day to a post for my huge, and dedicated, internet following (hi guys!).

Work is steady, and coming to be something that I can do with out stressing out or losing touch with reality, which is nice, though there is always the eagerness to get back in school so I can do more. Unfortunately, once I get back in school I fade rather quickly. So this time around I will try doing school as a gradual process. Something that supplements work and still pushes me forward.

Dan conjured up a really cool idea for working and creating wood panels out of strips of plywood, I can't wait to see it come together and post pics! Have a good day everyone!
