Weekend cleaning marathon!

Well, several people I know ran the Eugene Marathon or Half Marathon this morning, and instead, I cleaned. But not until I finally got out of bed at 12:30 pm. Talk about a sleep in catch up! This whole last week I was staying up later than usual and not able to get enough sleep, so this week's sleepless nights were finally caught up....

Also I spent this whole weekend (okay friday) cleaning the house with a vengeance.

I went to meet up with the ladies (+Casey), for cocktails and seared ahi. The bartender Jeff took this picture of us which came out great! Oh I can never get enough of them when they are around! Far left is Casey, Bottom Left is Deeds, Ash, Nicole is in the middle back, I am in the fron and Kasha is on the far right.

Somehow on Tuesday nights I find myself at a little bar drinking tasties with my oldest and closest friends and their oldest and closest friends. On these nights I know that the world can just be so right at times...

blue skies....you know how it goes

I am sitting on my couch reflecting on my week with my kitty Em curled up at the foot of the couch. Yesterday Dan, Mom, Lisa (Dan's Aunt), and I headed down to Bliss where we did the exciting job of cake testing for the wedding cake. There were so many different fillings, different compotes, frostings, cake flavors, and not to mention combinations, I think we were all in a little cloud of heaven for an hour or so yesterday. We have finally come to some decisions about it despite lots of back-and-forth "coversations" about what would go best with what, that we made jokes about having a Dan Tier and a Sierra Tier and putting buzzers out as people chose to see who's tier was most favorited by the crowd. What a fun ordeal!
Thursday there is a dress fitting for some wee adjustments, and then Saturday we will be preparing invitations. It is truly amazing how all these things are actually getting done without my head falling off. And we are keeping it low key, I can't even imagine what some of those couples go through who plan the party of the decade! Hats off to them!
As for me the rest of my Sunday consists of sitting on the couch watching Em bark (yes, bark) at blue jays that have entered her yard, and explore this website for ideas.

Jumping out of the plane

We went down to Creswell and jumped out of airplanes for Jebediah's 30th birthday on Saturday. See the video here. The tandem instructor is the same one I had, luckily for Jeb the winds look like they died down a bit and they were able to land a wee closer to the intended land site!

First Saturday Stitch N Bitch

Well, the First First Saturday Stitch N Bitch was a great success! Cori, Libby, Becky, Krista, and Allison all brought projects and drank coffee and chatted. It was fun to get caught up with people I haven't spent time with in a long time.

Mabel's Cafe & Knittery was a great place to meet up. The coffee was great, the yarn was drool-worthy to say the least, the couches were comfy, and the woman holding down the fort was so friendly and ready to answer questions and help us out with technical tips and tricks.

I can't wait till next month's reconvening! Cutest project shown in the store: red dress.

Busy busy busy...or am I?

It's truly amazing how time flies when you are doing nothing! Look, I have gone an entire week with out posting a single sentance. Awful.
This whole last week has been a bit of a whirlwind. I am learning another office at work, and jumping between two locations, which is a bit of a change, and proving to be a tricky thing to juggle. I seem to get off work and feel utterly exhausted at the end of the day. It's an odd feeling, working hard all day, and still leaving the office feeling like I am not doing the quality of work I normally feel I do. Learning new stuff is hard!
The silver lining is that I can now go home, and no longer worry about any looming homework that needs to be done. It is so nice to be free from school for a term!
I joined Oakway Fitness Center this morning. Its the cheapest place around, and it has a very welcoming atmosphere, plus my mom goes there, which is always a plus. After visiting the gym, mom and I went for a nice walk over by the country club, and then came home for an impromptu wedding meeting. We created a great plan of attack for the next couple of weeks, to make sure we stay on track with wedding plans. Its crazy how many things there are to think about.
