Did anyone know its National Professionals Week?

Yeah, neither did I, but apparently it is. I found this out when my manager came to the office with baskets of goodies for all the office staff. My basket included an orange pansy, a notepad, a key holder/badge holder, a gift card for $25 to Cinemark, and 4 SHARPIES OF ASSORTED COLORS!!!
Then I took the afternoon off to do some more training where I won a game and got a beautiful gerbera. Quite a day of gifts. It was nice for the middle of the week dry spell.

Wednesday morning, midweek blues

It is so cold my fingers won't type well. Next week it is supposed to be almost 80 degrees all week, but now it is a chilly 55. I have been having a good week, if a little boring, it still feels good. Lately I feel like there's not a lot to say. Don't know if that's good or bad, but it certainly is something.

A week since my last confession...

Wow, time flies when you are busy! This whole working forty hours a week thing really cuts down on posting time! I get home from work, where I am on the computer all day long, and the last thing I want to do is get online. Unfortunately, this leaves me feeling really out of the loop with what's going on with everyone!
This weekend I spent laying low, I picked my mom up from the airport and helped her weed her front yard for a while, then hopped over to Shannon's to say Happy 30th (crazy!).
For dinner tonight I made potstickers and watched Big Love, my favorite show. Today was the productive day of the weekend, running errands, doing chores, laying in the sun, and cooking, where as yesterday I watched countless hours of boxing and basketball. Atleast there was one productive day this weekend. And, as usual, it feels as though it is ending before it even began...

Meet Sydney!

For most of my thousands of readers, Sydney is a known character through Anatomist. Anatomist rescued Sydney and now he has become somewhat of a pug in her hair (sorry). But this picture was unbelievably wonderful so I thought I too would post it on my own website, just in case any one missed it on hers!

Good Morning, It's Friday!

Last night Dan and I watched (finished) the fifth, and last, season of Six Feet Under. It was amazing. I balled for about an hour and a half. It was pretty ridiculous how emotionally involved I found myself the Fischers. Really. But the show was so well done I couldn't help it. I strongly recommend that anyone out there who hasn't seen it go start from the beginning and watch them all.

Taxes, Shmaxes...

I began today the process of filing my federal tax return. While I realize that this simple act performed daily by average American citizens should be something that I could also complete as I am an average American citizen myself, once I started I felt an overwhelming need to end my life abruptly by jumping in front of the largest, fastest moving object I could find made of the heaviest metal I could find, as quickly as possible, to eliminate the pain. So I enjoyed an episode of South Park and went to bed. I can always file tomorrow, right?

Long straight day with a crooked neck

I woke up this morning with a kink in my neck and went around all day turning my whole body to look at things. I would turn my head and searing pain would shoot through my neck to my skull and a grimace would crawl on my face no matter how much I tried to hold it back. Horrible.

The Turtle Queen is the cutest picture on flickr this week! Mom is here and we are going to the gardening store to work out how to get my new summer vegetable garden started! I am so excited, and a little nervous because I've never grown anything in my entire life!

Tonight we toast!

This picture was taken on Deeds's birthday (that's Cam in the background). Mom and I headed over to Joanie's for a glass of wine and some dinner. Joanie made a dish called "overnight salad," and it was delicious! It was a blast to hang out with my mom and the girls and their boys, but it made me wish my boy was there...

There's a cat following me

I just came home from work and a little white cat was sitting on my doorstep. I wouldn't let it in, naturally, and now it is just sitting on my doorstep begging to be let in. What do I do? If it stays out there for much longer I am going to adopt it and Dan is not going to be happy. But its mewing and so desperately wants to be let in, like it used to live here. I guess my only hope is that it finds another house to adopt by the time I get home tonight. I cannot bear to listen to it cry all night. It will be a new family addition before then. Please, everyone hope for its safe travels! Oh and check out this great blog!

Yesterday I got mail!

Yesterday morning I woke up with a splitting headache and proceeded to be miserable for most of the day. Finally around the later afternoon it started to go away (most likely due to the huge amount of water and ibuprofen I had been taking all day). Ugh, headaches suck. Good thing they don't come around often. The highlight of my day was definately getting the above package from anatomist! Thanks!

This actually got me thinking again about the med school idea. I am glad that I have decided to take some time off from school and work again for now. I like being involved in work. It is intriguing to think of a med school being offered at the university though!

Em sleeps on Dan with her nose as close to his face as he will allow. Sometimes I'll wake up in the middle of the night and go into the living room where they have both fallen asleep and she will be nuzzled up under his chin, burried in his neck, and he'll be sitting almost upright with his glasses on. It kills me everytime.

Coffee cake I made yesterday morning. I found the recipe on All Recipes, and it was a hit!
